Cal’s Angels Twelve Days of Christmas

Two years ago we launched a program called “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”  The sole purpose of this new program was to spoil the heck out of seriously and terminally ill children fighting for their lives against cancer.  While the number in the title says Twelve, we couldn’t turn anyone away and purchased over $200 in gifts for each of our 14 recipients and thei r 33 siblings the first year and almost doubled it to 24 recipients and 52 siblings the second year.  We also included some baked goods, ginger bread houses and a $150 gift card for a turkey dinner for the family.

Cal’s Angels volunteers were in direct contact with each family to discuss if they would like their gifts wrapped for “under the tree” or dropped off at any point.  The volunteers were in frequent contact with the family to make sure we made this one of their best holidays yet with the goal being to ease the stress of caring for an ill child while trying to create some normalcy for the siblings during the holidays.  By taking care of the gift buying for the family, they were able to enjoy the holidays as much as possible considering the circumstances.

Because the program was so successful the last two years, we have decided to continue with this annual event and are now in the item purchasing phase of the 2012 Program.  This year’s list includes 21 recipients and their 41 siblings – shopping for 62 children is not an easy task so please help us help these kids and their families by purchasing items on our recipients’ wish lists via the Amazon link – please be sure to include a gift note so that we can acknowledge your generosity, without it they do not tell us who made the purchase:
